1 YEAR ON

It was around this time last year that I showcased my Graduate womenswear RTW collection at the Baltic Arts Centre in Gateshead, Newcastle and at Graduate Fashion Week, London, how time does fly.

I created a collection for versatility, a collection that was wearable season after season inspired by a mash up of urban street style imagery/styling and a riveting story about the iconic Osa Johnson and the adventures she faced with husband Martin during safari exploration in the 1940's fully detailed in her book entitled 'I Married Adventure'. The collection was inspired by the strong, independent women on the go with a certain 'coolness' about them.

My absence from blogging has been all for a good cause... my Graduate fashion show was held on the 14th May at the Baltic Arts Centre on the Quayside, Newcastle. I show cased my collection, inspired by urban street style, a versatile/capsule wardrobe and the book 'I Married Adventure' by Osa Johnson on the catwalk with fellow Northumbria final year students in front of press, industry, family and friends. Apologies for the silence this week, I have quite literally had 'my head in my books' working on final collection and dissertation research, ahhh the joys of final year!

However, here are a few photos I have been using in my current research for my graduate collection, how incredible does Karlie look?...
