Designer Highlights: LFW SS 12

Christopher Kane was inspired by a strange, out of the ordinary femininity using his darker side to come up with an idea that was as far away from what he initially started with as possible.

Jonny Johansson the mastermind behind Acne was inspired by a recent trip to Marrakech which seems an unlikely inspiration for the very minimalist brand but as the designer explained after the show, "he went to Morocco bored in advance of all the fashion clichés the place had birthed, and left with the unhappy feeling that he, too, had been influenced. That ambivalence made him work extra-hard, apparently, to reconsider the city, and interpret its colors and attitude in a way that felt relevant and urbane".

David Koma is still relativly new to the game but one of my favorites for his ability to dress women in such a cool, feminine way that really emphasizes the female form. The inspiration behind his ss 12 collection were based around sci-fi minimalisim with a tribal twist.

Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton also known as the duo, Sass & Bide showed a true to Spring collection with playful patterns and bright eye-catching neons paired with monochrome hues and clasic silhouettes with a modern twist. The girls love to take complete opposite ends of the universe and put them together to create a collection but it always seems to work in their favour.
